The Mid Ulster Film Festival is an international film festival, established in 2004 by Mary Mullin and Roisin Nevin. Hugh Mullin and Geoffrey Sproule, film co-ordinator and technician, joined in 2005. ==2009 Festival== The 6th Annual Mid Ulster Film Festival took place on 1 - 3 May 2009 as a well-established fixture in the line-up of film events in the North of Ireland. The festival prides itself on bridging the gap between the studio and independent filmmaking communities. Since its inception, the festival has aimed to reflect the cultural, visual and narrative diversity of both international and Irish independent filmmakers through its consistently strong and exciting programming, including feature films, such as ''Cinema Paradiso'', ''Nobody’s Fool'', starring Paul Newman, ''Jean de Florette'', late night film ''8.5 Hours'' and a Saturday matinée, ''Cats & Dogs''. The festival boasted an eclectic program, ranging from documentaries, such as ''¿La Verdad?'' – (''The Truth?''), ''Tea on the Axis of Evil'' and ''Alaska Far Away'', to the colourful comedy of ''Because There are Things You Never Forget'', to the beautifully created animation of ''From Darkness''. In all, over 80 films were shown over the course of the weekend To accommodate these showings there was a total of four studios, three studios inside the main building at The Ulster History Park, and The Cinemobile, a large custom-made truck housing a complete cinema with capacity for over 100 people.
